Hearings are held to consider more serious breaches or matters
where it has not been appropriate to deal with through NFOPP's
internal disciplinary procedures. If matters are dealt with
internally they will not be published whatever the sanction(s)
applied.
Tribunals are selected from the Tribunal Panel, and
comprise:
- Two property professionals. One shall act as chairman of the
Tribunal, and one shall have experience of the relevant property
discipline.
- One lay member.
Sanctions available to the Tribunal and Appeals
Tribunal
In order of seriousness:
- Caution;
- Formal warning;
- A fine not exceeding £5000;
- Reclassification of membership, or expulsion from
membership.
Whether sanctions imposed by a Tribunal/Appeals Tribunal are
published and members' divisional branches informed depends on
their level of severity. The Publications Policy can be obtained
from the Regulation Department by emailing: regulation@nfopp.co.uk
