Independent Redress Scheme
We require that all companies who deal in lettings &
property management and/or commercial & business transfer
belong to an independent redress scheme. This applies to all
branches doing such work. It is, of course, a legal requirement for
all residential property sales branches to be registered with an
independent redress scheme. The following are accepted:
The Property Ombudsman Scheme (TPOS) for Sales, Letting &

The Ombudsman Services: Property (OS:P) scheme you can contact

Auctioneers
As of 31 December 2011, it will be a requirement of NAVA
membership for all Principal, Partners and Directors to ensure that
their company is also a member of The Property Ombudsman Scheme
(TPOS) or Ombudsman Services : Property (OS:P).Those organisations
joining TPOS as a result of this requirement will be required to
agree to the Valuers and Auctioneers General Membership
Obligations, which can be found here.

NAVA members whose organizations are regulated by RICS may already
be registered with the OS:P and may therefore not need to take any
